I personally found her really sweet (not a hypocrital bitchface or a girl swooning over a prick hero for no rational reason). The heroine is being criticised here and labeled as a doormat by many readers. He makes mistakes (terrible ones), treats people like shit and the list goes on. The hero is cruel but towards the end he shows his better side (not sure he has one but still. It may seem slow-paced and repetitive but I was glued to the characters and their feelings/emotions rather than hooked on plot development. Wow, this book was so very intense and disturbing that even though I read it a few months ago, my mind keeps wandering to it sometimes. That being said, I loved this story, it has a special place in my heart and I reread it when I feel desperate and want to cry alone in the silence of my room. The heroine is very meek and never stands up for herself. 🌚Īlso the entire book consists of him grovelling and her still acting scared of him and being extremely traumatised.Įven though he changes his tactics and behaviour towards her, Sebastian stays a selfish, patriarchal piece of shit till the end of the story. 🌚 the hero rapes the heroine on their wedding night and slaps her 1 or 2 times throughout the book. While Sebastian unfolds from a monster into Prince Charming right before her eyes, Isabelle finds herself falling under his spell and getting closer to making a choice that might be fatal for both of them.įair warning to everyone so I don't get roasted and cyberbullied later: Isabelle has been tricked too many times to believe him, but the devil she bargained with refuses to give up on his mission to earn her forgiveness as well as her heart.
